Suleiman Maani

Suleiman Maani is an Independent Board Director. Suleiman joined Kalaam Telecom’s Board of Directors w.e.f December 2011. Suleiman formerly served as Kalaam’s CEO from June 2009 to June 2010 and moved back to Jordan in 2010, where he currently serves as as (Designation)/Company. Prior to his appointment as Kalaam’s CEO, Maani was the CEO of Itisuluna, a national telecom operator in Iraq, where he pioneered, built and launched the country’s first National 3G CDMA network, covering the 18 provinces in Iraq, in March 2008.

From 2002 to 2007, Maani served as the Chief Executive Officer for New Generation Telecommunications Company (Xpress), a Mobile Digital Trunking telecom operator in Jordan, where he built and launched the first full-service telecom operator, in the MENA region, that provides Telephony, Dispatch, GPS, Data, and VAS, based on Motorola’s iDEN technology.

Maani possesses over 23 years of comprehensive experience in Strategic Planning & Operations, primarily in Telecommunications and IT; followed by, in managing FMCG conglomerates. Specializing in managing start-ups, Maani has built and launched state-of-the-art operations, in addition to trouble-shooting and turning around non-profit-earning organizations into profitable businesses. His experience base spans the MENA region, from Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Palestine and the Levant.

Maani received both his BSc and MSc degrees in Construction Engineering Management from Oregon State University, US, in 1986 and 1987, respectively.
